About TBA & Associates

An accounting firm built around long relationships.

We started in 2014 with a simple idea: small business owners deserve an accountant who picks up the phone and explains the numbers in English. Eleven years later, our oldest clients are still with us — and that tells you everything.

Who we are

TBA & Associates is a Castle Rock-based accounting firm serving small businesses across the Denver metro and Colorado Springs corridor. We handle bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll, business formation, and CFO advisory — usually all four for the same client, because the back office works better when one team owns it.

Our clients are tradespeople, eCommerce operators, real estate agents, restaurateurs, and professional-services firms. Most of them came to us frustrated with a previous accountant who wouldn't return calls or who handed every conversation off to a junior. We don't operate that way.

What 11 years of small business work taught us

We've watched a contractor scale from one truck to a 12-person crew. We've cleaned up books that hadn't been touched in three years. We've sat across the table from owners who were sure they were profitable, until we showed them the actual margin on their best-selling job.

Two patterns hold across every industry we serve:

  1. Clean monthly books are the cheapest insurance a business can buy. The owners who reconcile every month catch problems early. The ones who wait until tax time pay for it twice — once in panic, once in IRS interest.
  2. Tax planning is a year-round job, not a March exercise. The single biggest savings we deliver come from quarterly conversations: should we move to S-corp? Are we capturing every legitimate deduction? Is the owner's salary right?
Field note

The best accountants don't sell you complicated. They sell you simple, on time, and right the first time. If your current firm is making everything sound complicated, get a second opinion.

How we work with clients

Most engagements start the same way: a 30-minute call to understand your business, your software, and what's actually keeping you up at night. From there we send a clear proposal with an up-front estimate — no surprise invoices.

  • Onboarding takes 1–2 weeks for a current business, 2–4 weeks if we're catching up prior periods.
  • Monthly close wraps by the 15th of the following month. You get a P&L, balance sheet, and a short note on what we noticed.
  • Quarterly tax planning is included for clients on a monthly engagement — we'd rather flag a problem in Q3 than fix it in April.
  • Year-end means W-2s, 1099s, and the actual tax return. No scramble, because the books were clean all year.
The Bottom Line

Hire us once, talk to us all year.

Most of our pricing includes unlimited email and phone access, because if you only call your accountant in March, you're getting reactive advice. The whole point is to get ahead of the numbers — not chase them.

Service area

We work with clients across the entire Denver metro and Colorado Springs corridor: Castle Rock, Denver, Littleton, Centennial, Parker, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Colorado Springs. Most engagements are remote (Zoom, secure file transfer, cloud accounting), with in-person meetings available at our Castle Rock office or at your business by appointment.
